Bushbuckridge mayor embarks on debt collection exercise

In an attempt to recoup monies owed by residents, businesses and government departments, Bushbuckridge Local Municipality’s executive mayor, Cllr Sylvia Nxumalo will on Tuesday embark on a revenue collection campaign.

The municipality has disclosed that it is owed R1 billion in unpaid municipal services such as water supply, refuse removal and property rates.

During the campaign, Nxumalo will visit households to explain to them the importance of paying for municipal services provided to them and the disadvantages of not paying for municipal services.
