Evangelical church celebrates anniversary

Elderly women and men of the Evangelical Church attended the church’s 41st anniversary.

KANYAMAZANE – “We thank the faithfulness of God for keeping us all these years, for protecting us during the recent hailstorm that hit the area a month ago and for church assets which includes extra accommodation rooms, a car and a drone camera for the church,” explained the grey head founder, Dr Bishop Isaac Simelane.

He also narrates events where he was attacked and saved by God while preaching the gospel.
“Our church members once ate poisoned food, their vomits burnt grass and through the power of God, we survived. We were shot while preaching during a crusade in Mamelodi and many repented that day. In Jane Furse, God used a woman to protect me when other pastors were planning to harm me after having a crusade there,” narrates Simelane.

“Even there I survived, who else could have done all this miraculous deed except God himself, nor water nor miracle oil or clothe could save a man except Jesus Christ,” he adds.

In his sermon, Simelane condemned other preachers for using miracle performances instead of preaching the pure gospel to wow followers.

“Such fashion, pride and status has diluted the true gospel. Those things are useless, people need Jesus who died on the cross for their sins to be purified, not all the fashion and stories about your families as we see in most churches today,” he said.

The service was characterized by dance, praise and testimonies of the work of God from congregants from different parts of the country.
