Security guard injured in KaNyamazane Cash-In-Transit

A Fidelity Security Services van transporting pension payout money was robbed in Legogote Road opposite Mgwenya College Of Education this morning.

It is reported that a gang of 12 to 15 suspects used explosives and fled in three cars with Gauteng Province registrations including a white Mercedes Benz, a white BMW and a red VW Golf Gti.

Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said the national office decides on how to control the CIT’s.”Talks surrounding heists are now centralised due to the high rate. However, it does not mean provincial police cannot comment in the media. The heists are being discussed nationally currently,” he said before referring us to the national police spokesperson.

Brigadier Vish Naidoo confirmed the incident. We are aware of a CIT vehicle that was attacked and robbed this morning.  One security guard was injured in the hand and the suspects fled.”
