DA remains strong and retains ward in Lekwa by-elections

"The DA’s 11% growth in the Ward demonstrates that voters believe in our promise of change and are willing to work with us towards building a society where the government is accountable to the people," says the DA.

The Democratic Alliance has retained Ward 10 in Lekwa Local Municipality with an overwhelming majority of 84.49%.

“Lekwa Municipality is suffering under the ANC, where poor service delivery and the constant threat of having its bulk electricity supply cut off are constant features. The ANC has ensured that sewage flows unabated in the streets of Sakhile and Rooikopen, posing a daily health risk for residents of the area,” said the provincial leader Jane Sithole.

she added that the residents have stated that they have had enough of the ANC’s uncaring attitude towards the people. The outcome of this by-election reaffirms that citizens are tired of being mistreated and are ready for a change.
