MBOMBELA – Sanford land claimants protested outside Kruger & Partners Attorneys’ offices regarding a R10,3 million land issue, this afternoon.
Chairperson of the SANFORD Community Mackson Sehlabela said the land which is said to be occupied by a man identified as Mr Du Preez was claimed by various members in the same community before 1998 in the Restitution Act.
“The land was consequently, given to Steve Mogane, who was not a claimant without any process of verification. So this triggered many protestations up until this matter ended up in court. So the claimants can get relief through court provisions. Regardless of the court measure, those people continue to impose themselves on the claimants,” said Sehlabela.
