Two men were found dead in separate incidents yesterday in Driekoppies Dam and Goedgelyk Farm.
According to the police, they found the body floating in the dam near Malalane upon their arrival at the scene. The victim was carrying a backpack containing compressed dagga .He was wearing a pair of black formal trousers, a golf shirt, formal shoes and a pair of socks.
Police are pleading with the public to assist them to trace the next of kin by contacting Detective/Captain Busisiwe Kunene on 082 4489 521, Sergeant Nompilo Qwabe on 079 891 4821 and the Schoemansdal SAPS at 013 781 3310/11.
Meanwhile, another man’s body in his early 60s was discovered at Goedgelyk Farm also known as Jerusalem in Machadodorp after he had been missing from June 23. According to the police, the body was identified by the deceased’s brother. Members of the community who may be able to assist in the investigation are urged to contact Warrant Officer Leon Van Den Berg on 082 316 9857.
Police have opened inquest dockets for both incidents. An investigation is underway.
