BREAKING NEWS: Lion and leopard spotted in Malalane
Rangers are currently on site trying to locate both the lion and leopard.
Mpumalanga Tourism Parks Agency (MTPA) communications manager, Kholofelo Nkambule has confirmed that a lion escaped from the Kruger National Park.
“We received an alert in the early hours of this morning. Our members are currently on site trying to locate the lion,” said Nkambule. However, according to an official Facebook page of Nkomazi Local Municipality, a lion and a leopard escaped but Nkambule said they were not aware of a leopard.
According to Nkomazi Local Municipality, spokesman Cyril Repinga confirmed that both animals escaped and were spotted near Pestana Kruger Lodge by some community members.
