Suspect to appear in court for business robbery

A 40-year-old man is expected to appear at the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on Monday,  for charges of business robbery.

NELSPRUIT – His appearance follows his arrest on June 30, 2018, at a betting place in Nelspruit, around 12:00.

According to Col Mtsholi Bhembe, spokesman for Mpumalanga police the suspect who was neatly dressed entered the betting house pretending to be an inspector who had come for an inspection. “He reportedly went to the cash office where he allegedly tied the supervisor using masking tape and took an undisclosed amount of cash which he put on a briefcase before leaving the office.”

“As he was about to exit the shop the manager caught him, the police were called and they arrested the suspect, hence the expected appearance in court,” said Bhembe.
