A 67-year-old man from Daantjie section drowned while trying to cross the Mkhumlakheyza stream after a heavy storm yesterday.
It is alleged that the man left his friends at a tavern with the intention of rushing home before it started raining. It is suspected that the storm might have caught up with him and filled up the stream before he could cross.

“His body was discovered by his family members around 20:30 who had gone out to look for him after seeing that it was getting late,” explained Capt Jabu Ndubane, spokesperson of the Pienaar Cluster.
