One of Mpumalanga’s songbirds, Pretty Mhlongo, will tonight record her third album, Encounter with God, at the Mbombela Civic Theatre.
This recording will also celebrate the importance of women in society and the opportunities available for them.
“We want to encourage women to take music seriously, learn to play instruments, create job opportunities for themselves and make it happen through the industry,” explained Selby Mhlongo, Pretty’s manager and husband

One of the new songs dedicated to women is none other than “Season of a Woman”. “This song talks about issues affecting women, including abuse and the killing of women, which is a serious issue in the country these days. It needs us to talk about it even in music,” said Pretty.
Guests for the night will include Fezile Moya, from the talented Afrotractions family, former Joyous Celebration singer, Sabata Masoka, Generations detective, aka Tumelo, Precious Khumo, Khaya Sibanyoni and Bonginkosi Nkosi from BCR FM.
Tickets for the concert are available from Computicket at R150. On Sunday doors will be open from 14:00 and the live recording starts at 16:00.
