Sam Nzima’s funeral details announced
Both the memorial and funeral services will be held at Nzima's home next week.
Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s approval for Sam Nzima to get a Special Provincial Funeral, preparations are underway.
Acting premier, Gillion Mashego briefed the media this morning stating that government will work collaboratively with the Nzima family. ” We wish to inform that the president declared a Special Provincial Official Funeral Category 2 for the veteran photographer. This category is for distinguished citizens specifically designated by the president. We will be working closely with the family during this time,” said Mashego.

Nzima’s memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 24 and his funeral on Saturday, May 26 at his home in Lilydale. Times of services will be communicated at a later stage.
