Will Sam Nzima get a Special Provincial Official Funeral?

Premier, Refilwe Mtsweni says veteran photographer, Sam Nzima deserves a dignified funeral for exposing the brutality of the apartheid police through photojournalism.

Mtsweni and other members of the African National Congress gathered at the Nzima residence in Lilydale to extend their condolences to the family. The premier’s spokesperson, Zibonele Mncwango confirmed that the premier has requested for Nzima to get a Special Provincial Funeral. “The family agreed for Nzima to be given a special send-off, however, it is a process but details of the funeral service will be known later today. His memorial service will take place on Thursday but the venue has not yet been confirmed,” said Mngwango.
