The coveted Miss SA crown in local’s sights

Two local ladies stand a chance to make it to the Miss South Africa 2018 top 12, to be announced next Thursday.

MBOMBELA – Akile Khoza (23) is from Bushbuckridge and is studying for her masters in neuroscience at Stellenbosch University. Eureka Khambako (23), from Hazyview, is doing her fifth year in medicine at the same university.

They are vying for the title with 26 other beauties. Nine are from Gauteng, seven from KwaZulu-Natal, three from the Eastern Cape, two from the Free State, Northern Cape, Western Cape respectively and only one is from Limpopo.

“We were delighted with the calibre of all the entrants in the year that we proudly celebrate our 60th anniversary and we are looking forward to a competitive final in May.”

The winner will be crowned on May 27 at Sun International’s new flagship, Time Square Sun Arena, in Pretoria, at a spectacular event which will be televised live on M-Net.

The winner will take home more than R2 million in prizes.
