King Mswati III turns 50

It was previously reported that the Swaziland National Provident Fund (SNPF) donated R989 000 which had been allocated and intended for retired and disabled people for the king's birthday celebration as well as a private jet from parliament in Swaziland.

Swaziland has declared April 19 a public holiday in honour of King Makhosetive Dlamini’s birthday and 50 years since the country gained independence.

The ministry of home affairs announced that since the 50/50 celebrations will be held today, the following day (April 20) is declared a public holiday further stating that April 25, which was normally a National Flag Day, would be a normal working day, since that holiday has been shifted to April 20.

Reports reveal that the 50th birthday anniversary of King Mswati III will broadcast live in 15 Southern African countries.
