NELSPRUIT – A 31-year-old man was gruesomely murdered at Zoeknog Trust in Acornhoek after he was set alight, in an apparent mob justice, last Saturday.
Local police received a tip-off only to find the deceased’s charred body. According to them, the man was a suspect in a murder case where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped and stabbed to death on January 7.
The Provincial Commissioner General Mondli Zuma urged members of the community to cooperate with the police and courts to put the people who committed the gruesome murder behind bars.
“I am appealing to our people to cooperate with the Criminal Justice System by reporting criminals and making statements to the police so that criminals may be sentenced accordingly,” said the General.
