Celebrate your scars with Lungile Mhango

The radio star hopes to help women accept and embrace who they are without bothering much of the body scars they cannot change. She aims to help them change their scars into stars.

Ligwalagwala FM’s radio presenter, Lungile Mhango, affectionately known as Sibukubukwane, is on a drive to help young women embrace their beauty regardless of  any scars they may have.

She extends an invitation to women  of ages  between 18 and 35 bearing visible scars, either from accidents, abuse or burnt to email her their pictures, to  stand a chance of winning the honour of  celebrating her  birthday with them  on January 15

Growing up with her own visible scar  on her left arm  which she got while she  was  two years old  when she was accidently  burnt by boiling water. She knows exactly how it feels  to have a  visible mark.

“I know exactly what these women  go through emotionally , being ashamed of wearing their favourite clothes which may reveal  the scars and  always thinking that people see the scar before recognizing them,” she  said

I have learnt to accept my scar,  to say this is me and this is how I look,  so I’m inviting those women  who have scars hoping that after the event they will be empowered and motivated to accept what  they cannot change about their bodies and  live life  to the fullest,” she  said.
