Bushbuckridge Local Municipality achieved an unqualified audit report

An unqualified audit outcome means that the municipal financial statements contain no material misstatements.

The Bushbuckridge Local Municipality has proved that dedication and hard work pays, this is after the auditor general gave the municipality an unqualified audit for the 2016/17 financial year.

“This is undoubtedly an achievement for a municipality which was at one stage placed under the provincial administration, to attain such a feat and to attain an unqualified audit outcome is a dream come true. The municipality’s goal of achieving a clean audit characterized by good governance is one step closer to realization,” said Aubrey Mnisi, the municipal spokesperson.

This marks the third time the municipality received an Unqualified Audit outcome.

“We are proud to announce that the financial statements were done in-house without the use of consultants. The statements were fairly presented,” added Mnisi.

The municipality was recently honoured with an award for the most improved audit outcomes in the category of clean administration. This happened on October 9, at Cape Town International Convection Centre, during the annual Chartered Institute of Government Financial, Audit and Risk Officers (CIGRARO).
