A principal from Berbice Primary school in Mkhondo accused of raping a learner is expected to appear in the Piet Retief magistrate’s court for a formal bail application.
It is alleged that the principal has been raping the learner since 2014 and she eventually gave birth. It is alleged that the principal has been sexually harassing school girls on a number of occasions. Parents reported the matter to the police who in turn arrested him.

DA members will be picketing outside the court this morning.
Meanwhile the department of education indicated that the principal has been suspended.
