PHOTOS: Bodies rotting at Themba Hospital’s mortuaries

Controversy has surrounded the hospital over the years with one problem after another.

23 out of 60 refrigerators are functioning at the hospital's mortuary.

It has been reported that the mortuary refrigerators are faulty and bodies have started to decompose. Last Thursday an inspection was conducted by Ehlanzeni District Municipality’s Health and Environmental Management team.

Circled is a leaking refrigerator. One of the employees claims it is a mortuary cleaner that was used earlier on the day.

There are 12 unidentified bodies that are already decomposing. Two bodies are stored in each refrigerator.
