South African National Defence Force (SANDF) members spotted the lion on the Lebombo mountain (borderline) an area between Komatipoort and the nearby farms in Mpumalanga this morning.
According to Nkomazi Local Municipality spokesperson, Cyril Repinga, all stakeholders were alerted. “We received a call from SANDF informing us that they had seen a lion. It is true and from what is said there is a possibility that the lion could be from Mozambique since the area is between South Africa and Mozambique.
Mpumalanga Tourism Parks Agency was not available to comment.
