Driver of the vehicle burnt beyond recognition identified
Experts are still investigating whether there were other occupants who burnt inside the vehicle
BARBERTON – The driver of the vehicle that was burnt beyond recognition on the R40 road near Barberton Nature Reserve on Saturday evening has been identified.
The deceased, Dan Mashigo, allegedly lost control of the vehicle which capsized and rolled over several times. He was flung out of the vehicle.

The spokesperson of the Pienaar Cluster, Sgt Jabu Ndubane said they have managed to contact the family of the deceased after they discovered a cell phone belonging to Mashigo where the accident occurred.
“We have managed to trace a brother of the deceased and according to the information that we have received from the family, the deceased had visited his relatives in Barberton and he was on his way back to Mbombela when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle,” she explained.
