PHOTOS: Flakka drug now allegedly disguised as candy

The designer drug made headlines last week as it hit South African shores. Cases of the synthetic drug have been already reported in Durban and Pretoria.

Images of how Flakka is distributed were circulated on social media this week. Parents are advised to to keep an eye on their children and to report any suspicious behaviour to the police.

It is a synthetic stimulant made from cathinone – an amphetamine-like drug found in bath salts. Cathinone has been banned and the drug-makers are using a similar substance called alpha-PVP instead.
