Family disturbed by rumours on missing woman

Rumours abound that missing woman may have been devoured by lions.

The family and loved ones of Zodwa Mabunda, from Empakeni near Mthethomusha Game Reserve are still astonished following the confusion which resulted in her disappearance at a nearby mountain since last Saturday.

Husband to the 47-year-old missing mother of two, Siboshwa Fakude, said they are facing worst time of their lives ever. Fakude said they were very much disturbed by the false reports that were circulated in some radio stations indicating that his wife was devoured by a lion.

“It is unbelievable that there are people who have the courage to distribute such untrue information on radio stations without the consent of us as a family,” he said.

Fakude has requested the police to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that they find his wife, “It is almost a week now since the disappearance of my wife, there is something fishy with the whole thing. If it is possible that she is no more, at least if we can get her body that can be even better and maybe can give us closure,” he added.

The search is still in progress as community members and the police are seen moving around the mountains. Mabunda never came back home after she went to look for cattle at a nearby mountain since last Saturday. A case of a missing person has been opened.
