Ikosi Sipho Mahlangu elected the new Chairperson of the National House

Mpumalanga House of Traditional Leaders (MPHTL) has congratulated the newly-elected Chairperson of the National House of Traditional Leaders (NHTL) Ikosi Sipho Mahlangu who hails from Mpumalanga Province.

Ikosi Mahlangu served as the Provincial Chairperson of the House and subsequently the Deputy Chairperson for NHTL in the previous term. His election, which took place last week on Thursday in Tshwane saw the first woman, Nkosikazi Nosandi Mhlauli of Amahlubi clan in the Eastern Cape elected as the Deputy Chairperson.

”We congratulate Ikosi Mahlangu of the Ndzundza Mabusa Traditional Council to the new leading role. We have confidence in his leadership and the entire newly-elected Executive. We are confident that he will steer the traditional institution towards the objectives of improving the livelihoods of communities in tribal areas,” said Chairperson of MPHTL, Inkhosi Sandile Ngomane.

Inkhosi Ngomane expressed the determination of the MPHTL to support Mahlangu and the new Executive.
Ikosi Mahlangu was instrumental in the initiatives to curb the loss of lives in the initiation schools.
