NERSA consults public on impending tarrif increase

The National Energy Regulator South Africa (NERSA) public hearing on Eskom's Revenue application for 2018/19 was recently held at Orion Hotel.

Eskom recently submitted its application to the NERSA for an increase in the standard electricity tariff of 19.9 percent and for municipalities, 27.5 percent.

According to Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe, it is done every five years. “NERSA reviews the application before they accept or reject it. They also host public hearings in various provinces nation-wide,”said Phasiwe.
