Two suspects appear in court for contravening national credit act

Mashego was found in possession of SASSA cards and withdrawing money at the ATM from the SASSA cardholder’s account.

Two suspects recently appeared in Lydenburg magistrate’s court for contravening the National Credit Act Act 34 of 2005.
This follows after Ms Tlou Violet Mkhabela, the owner of Ntswaki Cash Loans in Lydenburg and Thapelo Splender Mashego were arrested by the members of the Hawks Nelspruit Commercial Crime Unit.

“Mashego was found in possession of SASSA cards and withdrawing money at the ATM from the SASSA cardholder’s account. He was also found in possession of R18 370 00,” said Capt Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi, spokesperson for the Hawks in Mpumalanga.

“Both suspects were granted bail R3 000 and the case is postponed to November 28 for further investigation,” she said.
