Miss Mpumalanga calls for end to drop-outs at schools

The grade 12 final examinations that commenced on Monday should note substantially less drop-outs. This is because of efforts by Zazi and the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator, as well as Miss Mpumalanga 2017, Geraldine Williams.

MBOMBELA –  Williams has been instrumental in encouraging youth across the province to stay in school as she embarked on an awareness campaign held in Amsterdam, Mkhondo Local Municipality, KwaMhlanga in Thembisile Local Municipality and recently at the Zazi Provincial Camp in Badplaas in Albert Luthuli Local Municipality.

Focusing on the 70 257 matriculants sitting for this year’s examinations, Williams said, “My heartfelt wishes go to these learners to apply their minds and exert their very best during the next few weeks until they complete their high school educational journey. Their biggest goal now should be tertiary level, where they will commence another important journey of their professional livelihood.

“It is embedded upon them to ensure that they attain the highest marks in all subjects in order to be eligible for entry at any tertiary institution of their choice. Remember, you are the masters and mistresses of your destinies, and most importantly, this country needs you to serve it in your different capacities and capabilities and make a difference in people’s lives.

” Guard yourselves against sexual tendencies that may hinder you from your treasured future. You only have one life and that life is in your precious hands. Do it for your future and ensure that youth, you are well prepared for the future,” she ended.
