Mpumalanga roads claim eight lives

There has been a number of accidents on the Mpumalanga roads over the past two days.

MBOMBELA –  In one accident, the driver of the bakkie allegedly lost control and had a head-on collision with a truck on the Schoemanskloof Road yesterday. A man who is suspected to be the father and two children, died on the scene. A woman, suspected to be the mother together with other two children sustained serious injuries.

According to information from the Department of Safety, Security and Liaison, the second incident involved a 27-year-old man who was in a fatal accident around the Malalane precinct. Reginald Shabalala was driving a bakkie when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with another vehicle.

Finally, there was a head-on collision between a bakkie and a truck at the N4 Tenbosch and Marloth Park turn-off. Four people, including a child of less than two years, died and one seriously injured occupant was transported to Tonga Hospital. All those affected were occupants of the bakkie.
