‘We need to know what happened to him’

Family and loved ones of Bongani Mabuza 35 are having sleepless nights after the confusion which resulted in his disappearance in November last year.

Mabuza, originally from Edwaleni, was last seen by his girlfriend Charity Masuku, on November 26, 2016, in Elandshoek near Ngodwana where they were staying.

According to the desperate mother of a two-year-old boy, her boyfriend went out with his friends to have a few drinks as they were used to and that was the last time she saw him.

She said that the friends came back and informed her that unknown people approached them and took Bongani away with them. His friends claimed that Bongani was accused of livestock theft by his abductors.

“What confuses me is that how come they only took him alone while he was with other people, that I don’t understand. I reported the case to the Ngodwana police station. After noticing that they were not interested in assisting me finding my boyfriend, I then decided to go straight to the provincial police headquarters for their intervention as well,” she said.

“Since his disappearance, life has been very hectic for me and our son. I wish to know what happened to him. Even if they killed him, at least if they can show us his grave so that we can at least have peace,” added Charity.
