The man was sought by the police in connection with the murder of his 42- year-old wife, Martha Philisile Mashego who was hacked to death with a panga.
“Her lifeless body was left dwindling in a pit toilet last week.
She was discovered by his stepson the following morning at Newkom, Zomba trust,” explained Brig Leonard Hlathi, spokesperson for the provincial police.

“Subsequent to that, police investigation indicated that the suspect may be instrumental in assisting solve this impasse, however, he failed to come forward after an appeal was made by police,” he added.
His arrest comes after concerned community members came forward with the suspect’s whereabouts after having seen his photo on a local newspaper and alerted the police who reacted swiftly and arrested him.
