Leadership candidates should be uncontested said five provinces in Mpumalanga

It is reliably learnt that this group is lobbying for ANC treasurer-general Zweli Mkhize for President.

The special provincial general council ended on a high note yesterday as the five provincial Chairperson from Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Free State, North West and KwaZulu-Natal unanimously agreed that the unity of the ANC was sacrosanct.

The leadership to emerge from the December elective conference should be one that will be unanimously a unifying one and as they go to the December conference, candidates presented there should be uncontested.
It was attended by Gauteng Chairperson, Paul Mashatile, Free State Chairperson Ace Magashule, North West Chairperson Supra Mahumetso, KZN deputy chairperson Willies Mchunu.
Only Limpopo failed to attend. It is reliably learnt that this group is lobbying for ANC treasurer-general Zweli Mkhize for President.

It’s confusing because both Free State and North West were backing Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma’s campaign for the presidency.
Mabuza, who was addressed as national chairperson by Magashule, has emerged as the ANC unifier towards the build-up to the national conference. Will he finally lend the chairperson or deputy president position?
