SAFCOL reaches out to learners through their dignity drive campaign

They identified schools from impoverished communities under their operational subsidiaries.

MPUMALANGA-In their dignity drive campaign which is meant to create awareness for the keeping a girl child in school project and to honour the women of 1956, South African Forestry Company (SAFCOL) are visiting various school in the province and in Limpopo to donate Sanitary towels to 1571 girls and toiletries to 1728 boys.

 

 

They identified schools from impoverished communities under their operational subsidiaries.On August 22, 2017, they visited Lusushwana High School in Dundonald, which has a total of 355 learners. 169 girls were given dignity packs which included Sanitary towels, face cloths, toothpastes, toothbrushes, bath soaps, roll on and body lotion, and 186 boys were also given toiletries.

While having an interactive session with Ms Linda Gininda from SAFCOL, some of the girls have admitted to have stayed at home during their periods as they cannot afford to buy sanitary towels. The learners were also educated on health issues. So far they have donated to five schools and still to be visited is Gedlembane High School in Pienaar and Vriesland Primary School in Mantjolo Village.
