SANCO to help minimise crime

In a bid to minimise crime in KaNyamazane, the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) has embarked on a door-to- door campaign to fix broken windows.

The ANCYL former chairperson, Dumisane Ngomane said that if households have broken windows, it makes it easy for people to break in. This leads to theft and rape. Criminals would insert wires inside the house and that makes it easy to steal as much goods as they possibly can.

“We will start with the project in two weeks’ time as we are still doing quotations,” said Ngomane. He said that the quotations are meant to know how many houses need the windows to be fixed and how much is it going to cost.

He added that the organisation has other upcoming projects to help uplift the community.
