More than 15 people arrested in Lebombo Border Gate

In honour of Women's Month, women in the Mpumalanga safety and security cluster are clamping down on criminals on the province's roads and along its borders.

A joint SANDF, police and traffic operation in Lebombo border gate have caught seven adults hidden in a taxi 1 km away from the border on Thursday.

The occupants and the driver were arrested. Another driver was also arrested for aiding and abetting foreign nationals to enter South Africa using ports other than the port of entry. Six more people without documentations were nabbed. Two others were arrested for possession of dagga.

Meanwhile on Wednesday a truck transporting fake sneakers with the value of R400 000 was seized and three people were arrested. Those arrested will appear in the Komatipoort Magistrate’s court soon.
