NSFAS officially opens applications for 2018 academic year

Applications for funding for the 2018 academic year through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) have officially been opened.

Prospective learners can apply on the NSFAS website or at the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) offices.

Applicants are required to be in possession of all the following compulsory documents before making an application. A certified copy of your ID, certified copy of your parents or guardian’s ID, and certified copies of proof of the household’s income.

We also need a signed consent form. If a student is disabled a document, annexure A, which is a questionnaire, has to be completed . Once all these documents have been submitted, NSFAS will start the process of registering the students on the My NSFAS portal.
There are 115 NYDA centres strategically located in rural and semi-rural areas, as well as townships. The centres will be open on weekdays from 08:00-17:00.
Applications close on November 30, 2017.
