Condolences are pouring in for Ray Phiri on social media

The country is in mourning today after the passing of Raymond Chikapa Phiri.

About five-thousand mourners have already arrived at Mbombela stadium to commemorate the life of Raymond Chikapa Enock Phiri, who died last week Wednesday after a short battle with lung cancer.

Among other dignitaries present in the memorial service include former Mpumalanga Premier Mathews Phosa and wife Pinkie Phosa, acting premier Refilwe Mtshweni, MEC Vusi Shongwe, Pat Ngomane just to mention but a few.

Speaking at the memorial his two children Lenhle and Pholo said their father played a crucial role in their lives. “I will always cherish my father as he made me a better person,” said Lenhle.

 

Meanwhile, one of his colleagues a drummer in the band Isaac Mnca Msthali breaks down as “Whispers in The Deep” plays during the documentary.

Ray’s sister Thoko Zulu says that Ray is now an angel looking after the family and may his rest in peace.
