Five people were confirmed dead on the N4 between Ngodwana and Elandshoek after a taxi travelling to Mozambique collided with a truck at about 10pm.

Four occupants were seriously injured and another four sustained minor injuries. They were transported to Rob Ferreira Hospital. The road is closed for traffic.
