Mpumalanga to host Tourism Month

It was stated that the focus would be on this province to exert its best and be worthy hosts, thus calling for unified action and initiatives from all interested parties in the tourism sector and beyond.

Mpumalanga will host this year’s Tourism Month nationally, announced MEC Eric Kholwane yesterday during the official welcoming ceremony for all provincial delegates at the annual Tourism Indaba held in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

The province, led by the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA), is hosting provincial exhibitors at the Durban Exhibition Centre (DEC), while other provincial exhibitors are there in their individual capacity and others are hosted by South African Tourism because of their outstanding feat in the industry.

MTPA Board chairperson, Mr Thulani Nzima also urged exhibitors to ensure that they reap benefits when attending the Indaba. “Those in the know will tell you that when you come here, it is to tie up the loose ends to deals that you’ve begun before coming here.

“Before coming to the Indaba, you must have made appointments with people you want to do business with. For frst-timers, they need to establish contacts, strike business and make money and create jobs,” he said.
