KFC cooking competition here on Saturday

It's your one opportunity to test your cooking skills against the rest at Mercure Hotel.

MBOMBELA – KFC has launched its first-ever reality cooking show, and the auditions will be taking place at Mercure Hotel in Nelspruit on Saturday April 22.

KFC Taste Kitchen takes teams of two on a journey of innovation and explosive taste. The show format will see 11 teams compete in a round of challenges, go through a judging process and eliminations, and ultimately stand a chance to win R1 million.

The show will find its home on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) and will premiere on Friday July 14 at 19.00. To stand a chance to be on the show, get ready for the auditions!

Budding cooks have a chance to create a sensory feast to win a grand prize of R1 million. For the past 45 years, Colonel Sanders’ iconic secret recipe chicken has been and will continue to be an important part of South African culture. But, while KFC’s Finger Lickin’ Good chicken may be the star of the show at KFC restaurants, sides like mash and gravy and coleslaw have a fan base all on their own.

Over 13 weeks, the aspiring duos will compete against each other to create the most innovative and authentic South African side dishes to complement KFC’s original recipe chicken. Each week will be filled with nerve-wracking challenges that will test their creativity and innovative spirit, as they compete for the grand prize.

Auditions for the show will be taking place at select venues across the country. To be part of the auditions, you will need to bring a hot or cold side dish that you made at home and be able to tell the judges about the dish, and how it was prepared. Auditions are open to individuals and teams of two.
