Six armed men attacked and shot two security officials parked outside the Shabalala Ndosi tavern where a British Tobacco vehicle was delivering cigarettes in Hazyview on Tuesday.
One of the officials sustained injuries to the shoulder after he was shot twice while the other official got injured on the arm.
The suspects then disarmed the injured security officials. Inside the tavern, the suspects approached the delivery men and made off with three boxes of cigarettes, the delivery-vehicle keys and an undisclosed amount of cash.
A white Ford Kuga, white Toyota Quantum and Silver Volkswagen Polo with unknown registration numbers has been used as getaway vehicles. The injured officials were taken to hospital. No one has been arrested for the robbery yet.
