Disruption of teaching and learning at Mpakeni Primary

After the principal failed to adhere to their call, they later locked all the school teachers in the school staff-room, including the accused teacher.

MPAKENI – Teaching and learning continues to be disrupted at Mpakeni Primary School on Thursday.

The disruption was sparked by allegations that a certain teacher has allegedly raped a 12-year school learner from the school on Monday in his office.

On Wednesday, parents protested outside the school premises in demand that the school principal, Makhosi Ngwenyama must expel the implicated teacher. The teacher’s name is known to this publication but can’t be revealed as no criminal case has been opened against him.

After the principal failed to adhere to their call, they later locked all the school teachers in the school staff-room, including the accused teacher. Police had to be called in to bring calm.

“Police went to the school yesterday (Wednesday) to bring calm by taking away the implicated teacher and rescued the locked ones. No case was opened as the learner told the social workers that the teacher allegedly told her that he wants to sleep with her,” said Ndubane.
