These women have what it takes

It's exactly five weeks before the Crowning Miss Mpumalanga 2017. Here are three of the top-12 finalists, all of whom could be destined to clinch the crown.

It’s exactly five weeks before the Crowning Miss Mpumalanga 2017 takes place at Mbombela Stadium on March 18, brought to you courtesy of the Mpumalanga Gambling Board and Mzimari Productions. Here are three of the top-12 finalists, all of whom could be destined to clinch the crown.
Kobankwe Reshoketswe Mohlala (20) hails from Middelburg and is a second-year student at the University of Mpumalanga, studying BSc in agriculture. She boldly declares, “Expect no one to determine your potential, capabilities and strength. So, write your own story by living a life of inspiration and aspirations. Remember we are all given a life, but it is up to us to make it good or bad.
“My dream is to become a soil scientist who will help farmers to develop nutrient-management and  soil-conservation plans and design chemically reduced or chemically-free integrated pest-management strategies,” she says.

Kobankwe Reshoketswe Mohlala (20) hails from Middelburg and is a second-year student at the University of Mpumalanga.

Lungile Mlangeni (19) is originally from Elukwatini in the Albert Luthuli Local Municipality. She is a second year BA student in communications at the University of Limpopo.
“My hobbies are singing, especially in church, dancing and reading. I read novels and autobiographies for personal gain, and I also write inspirational columns. I’m a self-motivated and self-driven ambitious young woman, and I spend most of my time planning on how my future will be business-wise and academically.

Lungile Mlangeni (19) is originally from Elukwatini.

“I’m very energetic, vibrant, and hard-working, and enjoy helping people because I believe in the Scripture that states, ‘Blessed is the hand that gives than the hand that receives’. I believe that success doesn’t need a Visa. Rich or poor, we all have an equal chance to be successful in life, it just depends on how far you dream and whether you take action to achieve your goals or not. Hence I do not sit back and wait for things to happen.”

Mbalenhle Khumalo 
• Goal-driven, optimistic, and poised would be the three words that best describe the bubbly Mbalenhle Khumalo (22). She is a BTech graduate in information and corporate management, and is originally from Mkhondo Local Municipality. She best describes herself as an ambitious feminist who believes in female empowerment and that education is the key that unlocks infinite doors. Her main goal is to use platforms such as Miss Mpumalanga to address social and economical issues faced by the youth, and most to be the voice of the youth.

Mbalenhle Khumalo (22). She is a BTech graduate in information and corporate management, and is originally from Mkhondo Local Municipality.
