Kruger roads closed due to rainfall

The management of Kruger National Park announced the temporary closure of gravel roads and some facilities in the Kruger National Park as a result of the rainfall associated with cyclone Dineo.

BUSHBUCKRIDGE –  According to William Mabasa, spokesperson for the park, all gravel roads are closed and remote camps mostly in the north of the park will be temporarily closed and guests moved to safer camps as a precautionary measure.“These closures are necessary to ensure visitors’ safety during this time and we would like to advise guests to stick to the tar roads whilst driving inside the park,” Mabasa said in a statement.

The remote camps and gravel roads which will temporarily close are as follows:
Marula Region – roads and facilities closed:
-All gravel roads with the exception of access gravel roads to Biyamiti and Talamati
-Muzandzeni Picnic Site
-Sweni Wilderness Trail

Nxanatseni Region – roads and facilities closed:
-All gravel roads
-Nyalaland Wilderness Trail
-Olifants Wilderness Trail
-Sirheni Bushveld Camp
-Bateleur Bushveld Camp
-Shipandane Hide and Makhadzi Picnic Site
