Jam South Africa, a nutritional Non-governmental Organisation has distributed a new meal in Mpumalanga specifically for pre-schools and day care centres.
Jam South Africa has already piloted this project in some provinces around the country. The new meal is for children who come from disadvantaged communities.
In Mpumalanga more than 24 pre-schools from Kabokweni and Kanyamazane have been introduced to Jam nutrition meal.
Thokozile Mnisi, a coordinator from Jam in Nsikazi Circuit told Mpumalanga News that this meal contains corn, soya, sugar and is fortified with macro and micro nutrients.
“We will continue with giving Jam nutrition meal to pre-schools and day cares that are not subsidised by the government, as long as there are companies that are willing to donate to us,” said Mnisi.
The founder of Excellent Day Care Centre, Koekie Mchunu said that the meal will bring change in the day care centres and she is very happy for what Jam South Africa has done.
