Police vow to strengthen their relationship with residents

"We are not going to win this battle if there is a lack of interaction between police and the community,"

KABOKWENI – Local police vowed to strengthen their working relationship with community members.
This was revealed during the celebration of national police day last week Friday.

The spokesperson of the police Capt Sherly Ngomane said the celebration reminded them about their role in the community.

“We are not going to win this battle if there is a lack of interaction between police and the community. We need the community to work closely with us, that is why we established street committees and community policing forums.

We are going to increase our visibility in the township including in schools because these days drug kingpins are selling drugs in schools.
“A majority of the criminals are known in the community, especially on the issues of the drug dealers, they are killing our children,”said Ngomane.
