All roads lead to the Mapulaneng

The event has started to create excitement in that part of the Province with a start studded line up including National as well as Provincial artists.

The first annual Bushbuckridge Cultural Festival was launched to much funfare at the Nutting House Lodge outside Mbombela on last week.

The world acclaimed cultural group Umoja gave an emphatic and spine chilling performance, the 11 piece group gave a glimpse of what is going to happen in Bushbuckridge , Mapulaneng College on the December 26. The versatile Ligwalagwala FM presenter who was recently voted for the second time in succession as Queen Of Radio Lungile” Sbukza” Mangho, directed the program of the day with great aplomb.

The event is co-ordinated by Grassroots Music supported by National Department Of Arts and Culture. Speaking at the launch, Mr Sam Jiza Jiza Mthembu the Chairman of Grassroots Music had this to say “This is the first annual cultural event that will surely redefine events of this nature in this Province. Artists featured are Umoja, Kwesta, Sean Sharel, Make Shiyalongubo among others and Mr Stanfordd “ Uncle Stan” Mhlanga will compere the event, people are urged to buy tickets early and arrive early at the venue to avoid disappointments.”

This event promises to be a spectacle and a perfect outing for families since it Christmas time, its going to be a potpourie of cultures with SiSwati, Xitsonga , BaPedi, Mapulana and other ethnic groups prevalent in the province given a platform to showcase the diversity of the province.
