MSOGWABA – It is every child’s dream to wear brand-new clothes on Christmas Day, but to some it remains just that.

One of the sponsors, Fikile Lubisi, said they wanted to bring hope to the hopeless by making a difference in their lives. “We all know that Christmas is a time of giving, but there are people who are underprivileged and every year they have a bleak Christmas. It is not by choice, but due to circumstances beyond their control that they have no choice but to endure the situation.

“This year we want to give them a good Christmas and make them feel a part of society, too. We will be registering them tomorrow at the Msogwaba library because we need all their details so that we can provide for them,” said Lubisi.

“Our project has grown in leaps and bounds, hence we now have our own
database of underprivileged individuals and families. Early next year we will focus on buying school uniforms. There are many dropouts in the community who abandoned their studies because of uniforms,” she explained.
Lubisi calls upon citizens of the province to bring back the spirit of ubuntu, where we say your child is my child. “If we can all have that mentality, our community will be a better place as we believe that it takes a village to raise a child.”
