It took them almost three days to finally obey the agreement reached by their bosses over the weekend to return to the taxi platforms provided at the rank.

The taxis finally returned to the rank on Thursday afternoon. Traffic officers and police vehicles were visible to help maintain peace and stability.

“For the sake of peace and the respect we have for our passengers, we all agreed to go back and operate at our platforms at the taxi rank, although nothing has changed from the previous operations over long-distances routes,” said Mr Vusi Lukhele, secretary of the KaBokweni Taxi Association.
