Update: Sfiso Ncwane nearly died on stage Saturday

He alleged died of a kidney failure this morning.

Attendees of the Praise & Worship Festival held at Laerskool stadium in Burgersfort on Saturday are still shocked at the death of gospel great, Sfiso Ncwane.

One of his songs he splendidly performed was his hit song, “Kulungile Baba,” loosely translated, “All is well father.” He alleged died of a kidney failure this morning.

“Oh my God, this can’t be true. I know he was not well, but I didn’t think it was that serious. It is sad to lose such a talented young artist like him,” said Maria Selala.

Some said they didn’t expect the news of Sfiso’s death just three days after his performance because he didn’t look so bad. “People were talking about Lundi Tyamara’s appearance being worse, Sfiso looked healthy than him,” added Selala.

Bruce Kgapane, CEO of Ziyaphenduka Marketing and Events Logistics reveals that Ncwane arrived five hours late for his show. “His performance was good although we had to cut him short because he was late for his performance,” he said.

Kgapane mentioned that Ncwane nearly collapsed, but EMS personnel attended to him and his blood pressure and temperature was said to be very high. “He was supposed to be admitted, but he said he wouldn’t love to be admitted locally rather be it in Middelburg or Johannesburg, hence he drove away. That was the last time I heard of him until now that I heard of his death,” says Kgapane.

“If we had given him three songs to perform, I’m afraid something bad would have happened on stage. It is very sad to lose such a talented young musician. He did mention on stage that he was not feeling well, but pushed himself for the respect he had for me as an organiser and his audience,”added Kgapane.
