Four die in a horrific accident

All the victims were from the taxi, no one was injured from the truck.

MBOMBELA- A head on collision between a taxi and a truck claimed four lives yesterday evening leaving five seriously injured.

The accident happened around 19:00 on the R23 near the Perdekop area.
All the victims were from the taxi, no one was injured from the truck. According to Joseph Mabuza the injured persons includes four passengers and the taxi driver.

The taxi was travelling to Gauteng from KZN using the R23 Standerton road.

MEC Pat Ngomane sends his condolences to the victims families and those in hospital.

He continued to encourage the traffic officers to work hard adding that those officials who are found on the wrong side of the law, are dismissed from the unit.

He said he pray for the speedily recovery of the injured victims.
“The police should also urgently conclude their investigation with the aim of charging the person who caused the crash,” concluded Ngomane.
